How does AMHIE compare to other offers?
| Organisation | Core Focus of Short Courses | Best For… | Key Competitive Difference |
| AMHIE | Compliance & Operations | School Leaders (SLT) & Mental Health Leads | Focuses on legal duties, risk assessments, and Ofsted evidencing. |
| Anna Freud | Clinical & Research | Specialist Leads & Pastoral Staff | Highly academic, evidence-based interventions for specific conditions (e.g., anxiety). |
| Place2Be | Therapeutic Skills | Frontline Teachers & Support Staff | Practical “on-the-ground” skills for talking to children and using creative arts. |
| MindEd | Medical/Scientific | All School Staff (Free) | A vast, free library of NHS-vetted modules on psychiatric conditions and development. |
| National College | Broad CPD/Policy | General Staff & Governors | A “Netflix” style library covering everything (Safeguarding, IT, HR) but less specialized in MH. |
At AMHIE, we know that being a Senior Mental Health Lead is about more than just “wellbeing”—it’s about balancing the legal, financial, and operational complexities of running a safe school.
While many organisations offer excellent therapeutic training, we serve a different, vital purpose: protecting your school, your staff, and your budget through expert-led compliance.
Summary: Which should you choose?
-
Choose Anna Freud if you want to understand the latest clinical research.
-
Choose Place2Be if you want staff to be better at “listening” to kids.
-
Choose AMHIE if you are the person responsible for the policy, the budget, the risk assessments, and the Ofsted inspection.
